Today I get to share with you the first of our class of 2019 senior model’s… the lovely Ms. Hailee! She was SO much fun to photograph and did amazing on all her sessions. Here’s a look at ALL her favorites.

Does your business take annual staff photos? The practice of this has gotten less and less common in recent years but I love that Skip at the Avon still holds this tradition dear. He likes to celebrate their staff now, feature them every day on the walls of the theater AND think forward to what will be left behind if/when the theater is no longer there. This is their legacy, what could be pulled out of a storeroom 50 years from now and returned to a place of honor to pay homage to those who have graced the halls of this historic theater. I just love that mindset. That is why I do what I do. It’s about us now, to show love and support for those people that are most important to us but also to leave our legacy. This is why I love both digital and print images. Sure the digitals are here for the NOW, the sharing/showing with our friends and family from all around the world quickly and easily. But the prints…. those are for us for decades and centuries to come. Those are for the legacy boxes that end up in the hands of your grand children, or great grandchildren (I’m lucky enough to have my families legacy images).
You may be capturing these images well for your family but this is important for your businesses as well. Do your employees feel celebrated and valued (I can help you do that in a variety of ways)? Are you capturing the history/growth/legacy of your business now? Our businesses are our babies too and I’m so excited to get to celebrate this one each and every year. Today I get to share the class of 2019 soon-to-be graduates of Warrensburg-Latham High School. I get to work with each of these students once a year to create their senior yearbook portrait. It’s really a fun day for me to work with them to get a portrait they love to commemorate their final year of high school.

I can’t tell you how much I love and appreciate it when clients choose me not just for one portrait session but for their sessions continuously over the years. I was lucky enough to photograph Loren’s senior portraits, then her momma’s wedding day and now some updated family portraits for them over the years (including their fur babies!!!).
This year she trusted me enough to come out and brave a very rainy morning and do something a little different than we’ve done in the past. We chose a location that would give us a nice backdrop or two out of the rain and then at the end decided to go ahead and dive right out into the rain to embrace the not so wonderful weather. I’m so glad these guys were on board with something a little different and love what we were able to create.

Check out Will’s senior session! We’re now in the odd part of my year (ok really this is all year long) where I’m rounding out the last few orders for the past class of 2018 as they head off to college, in full on shooting mode for the current senior class of 2019 AND fielding model applications as they come in for the class of 2020… which basically just means I CONSTANTLY write the wrong year on all my checks, and school/doctor forms for the girls. I swear these people must think I’m nuts making out my checks for 8/18/20 (talk about post-dating, ya cash that thing in a couple YEARS!).
About half our senior guys each year choose our Simple senior session and one of my favorite things to show from those shorter 45 minute, single location sessions is how much we can create in that amount of time! I always work hard to select a location that will give us a lot of variety in a small area and encourage the senior to bring 3 different outfits so we can again get variety in the look of the images. But don’t worry if you (or your son) aren’t looking to spend 4 hours or multiple days on sessions. We absolutely do not have to do that to create a wide variety of images to showcase their personality, style and highlight their senior year. 
We are still booking fall/winter/spring sessions for the class of 2019 AND taking model applications for the class of 2020 model team.
