Today I get to share the lovely Piper with you! We had a perfect evening for her sunset session at one of my favorite locations for simple beautiful nature portraits.

Oh boy do I have some images to share with you guys today!!! Ahhhh, I met Hannah at Malydia’s BFF session last year and have gotten to work with her ever since as one of our 2020 senior models. We’ve had beautiful SUNRISE (yup, early morning for us but so worth it!) light, flowers, water (even all the way UNDER it) and her adorable pup. It was so much fun to work with her and I’m thrilled to show off all her favorite images here with you today!

Are you ready to see Kenzie’s whole senior portrait experience today?!?! Kenzie was a great part of our class of 2018 senior model team. She was so fun to work with and is the sweetest! First a few from her model pop up sessions… I loved her ‘little black dress’ look for our downtown group session (aren’t those dress sleeves cute!). And Kenzie also made it to our fair session but not until just after dark so she got some unique firework images.
Be sure to check out her BFF session images too! We combined her and Alaina’s session with all their friends and it was a blast. Then it was time for her senior sessions. Our first session, despite 0% chance of rain even as I drove to location got a little wet! We started downtown and not long after kicking off the session were caught in a random downpour! Luckily, we were able to keep to the overhangs on buildings and the transfer house for the most part and still create the images we wanted before heading inside to the studio.
On her next session day I ventured a bit closer to her down in Shelbyville. I absolutely love getting down there to use locations I don’t get to use all the time including this beautiful garden area and Shelbyville lake. We had a gorgeous day for her session complete with lovely sunset!
Last, but not least, we finished up her urban session (since our first was cut a bit short by rain) with a bit more grungy look at one of my favorite Decatur locations. Be sure to give Kenzie some love over on our facebook page where you can see more of her session and let her know what you think!

Class of 2018 your time has arrived!!! If you’ve been keeping up with us on social media you’ve already had the chance to ‘meet’ our class of 2018 senior model team but it’s been moving quick so don’t be surprised if you missed someone. You’re going to be seeing a LOT from these 13 awesome seniors over the next year but right now it’s time to show you how it all starts….
Our model applicants come in for an interview after they apply so we can get to know them just a bit better and that includes getting them into the studio for a QUICK five minute session and this is just a peek at what we created in that time…..

It’s Hunter’s moment in the spotlight on the SJP blog today! She’s a senior at Central A & M and is super talented. Not only does she play both school and club volleyball and cheer but is also a fantastic artist! She brought in a selection of her favorite art pieces for her session so I was able to create a few images that combined her art with mine.

This sunset image was probably my favorite combination. It completely took this image to a different level and my favorite part is that it made it much more unique and personal to her.
I did also really like the combo of the wolf and eye with this BoxDropsbySJP backdrop in a similar tone. Two of Hunter’s art pieces, plus a backdrop design by Punch & Sizzle all combined for my image… it’s like art overload!
Hunter’s also a big fan of mixing up her lip color so I loved the idea of doing a series of images to highlight that. My favorite ended up being the dark lip in black and white which is so bold yet a bit classic.
