This year I was honored to provide a prize to the local Cerro Gordo Bement Junior Miss Pageant and the lovely Miss Ella won our prize! We expanded a bit on what she won to get her a full studio and outdoor location session AND include her little sister too. These two gals were so much fun to photograph and as I always do with sibling sessions we got some real sibling love in there holding hands and hugging (you all know how much tween/teen siblings LOVE each other all day every day right?!?!). Well mom and I know they really do so we always get those warm and fuzzy photos on session.

I’m so excited for Ella’s unique wall art selection along with her custom-designed album which is going to be a blast to design. But until those go home with these girls it’s time to share all Ella’s favorites with them and the world. Enjoy!

| Hughes-Callison | 35 Year Anniversary Portraits | Decatur IL |

Did you miss me? You may have noticed (or may not have) that I was MIA on the blog last week… The reason was a combination of a SUPER busy fall week with a total of 24 of my usual 40 hour work week being spent out on session and then being hit hard for a couple days with flu/strep.

But I’m so glad to be back on the blog this week sharing this lovely couple with you. Randy and Elizabeth just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary and wanted to create a portrait to commemorate the big milestone. I was so happy that Elizabeth thought of me for these special portraits and glad that our shorter Limited Edition sessions were the perfect fit for something quick and easy. Here’s a look at their absolute favorite from their session!

I’m so excited to show off some of the Boyd Family’s portraits! You might remember Holden, one of our 2016 WLHS Seniors. One of my favorite times to create family portraits is before seniors (or new college freshmen now!!) go off to the next chapter of their lives.

While I now know first hand that your kids will ALWAYS be your babies there is a real transition after they graduate college and go off into the world. That time is the PERFECT time for an updated family portrait to celebrate your family before your little birds leave the nest.

And, of course, as part of all family sessions we have to get just mom and day (like when’s the last time you had couple’s portraits done solo?!?!). These two were so sweet and I absolutely love this image and am so glad it made it into their wall collage too!

I love love love this family and am SO excited to show off some of their favorite images from this past fall’s session. I’ve had the privilege to photograph the Paradee family a few times all starting with the lovely Ms Bridget’s senior portraits a few years ago!

I’m honored that these guys came back again for me to create some portrait art for their walls along with Christmas cards! In the midst of this heat wave I thought it would be great to remember fall is coming and look back at some cozy fall portraits. It’s hard to believe we are already filling our fall and Christmas schedule for this year too!

| Morrison Family | Decatur IL Family Portraits |

This beautiful family came to me to create some VERY important images which would be their last with their beautiful dog Scout. Having two aging dogs of my own who are very much a part of my family I’m always extremely honored when clients call upon me at these sad times. Scout is now forever with the Morrison family on their walls (and in their hearts of course).

Plus, we had to get some images of just the kids while we had them out and all cleaned up nice! This whole family was wonderful to work with and I’m so glad I got the chance to meet Scout and work with them.
