I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful intimate in-home wedding this spring and I’m so excited to share Meghan & Brandon’s album with you all today. Meghan’s sister hosted their wedding in her lovely home and it was the perfect atmosphere filled with their family and we had the perfect gorgeous sunny day.
| Jessie + Derek | Married | Columbia Missouri Wedding |
Today I get to show off Jessie & Derek’s Columbia, MO wedding day. This lovely bride is actually my cousin so this wedding was a really fun one where even my little one got to attend and dance her heart out at the reception (when she wasn’t ‘assisting’ mommy by clinging to my leg while I photographed said dancing!).
I don’t work often back in Missouri but being home those central MO weddings have a very special place in my heart (session too!). It’s so much fun for me to be back photographing at places where some of my very first sessions took place. There’s nothing more nostalgic than heading back to downtown Columbia, MU campus or even the Capital to photograph again. Add in a super fun bridal party, the sweetest couple, beautiful lighting, the cutest reception decorations plus a good friend second shooting with me and this was a perfect wedding day!
If you’re a Missouri bride, bring me home! The best part is central-Missouri weddings include FREE travel!!
| Carly + Tyler | Engagement Portraits | Decatur IL |
Take a look at Carly & Tyler! I’m so excited to be photographing their wedding this coming fall and today I get to share a few of their favorite engagement images with you all. I met Carly a couple years ago when I created her senior images and I was thrilled when she called to talk about her wedding day.
We wanted a sunset look for their session but timing wasn’t working out with our schedules so instead we opted for SUNRISE! While not many clients brave the early morning hours for this look I just LOVE it and it lets us get really unique looks including the first ever sunrise I’ve photographed over this field at sandscreek.. the light is just not the same here any other time of day!
But as you can tell by their first outfits this session was a bit chilly so we opted to spend the second half of their session here in the studio where we could all stay much warmer! There’s always something so classic and timeless in studio portraits, especially black and white.
| Alyssa + Corey | Married | Decatur IL Wedding |
Today I’m showing off Alyssa & Corey’s wedding album! I met Alyssa a few years ago and I was thrilled when she chose me to create her portraits for her big day. She and I totally clicked and I swear we chat for 20-40 minutes every time she’s in even for just a pickup. And we are due with our little ones within days of eachother!!
We kicked off this beautiful wedding day at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel (which has the most gorgeous large and comfy suites that are the perfect getting ready spaces). And that even gave me and the gals a chance to sneak out back for a few images before we headed over to Scovill Golf Course for Alyssa to see her groom and create some more images pre-wedding!
One of Corey’s groomsmen might look a little familiar as he was also one of my grooms this year (you can see his wedding here).
| Heather + Blair | Mt. Zion, IL Wedding |
Heather and Blair are the stars on the blog today! These two are the sweetest and their wedding day was full to bursting with love and family and fun. We kicked off the day at the day getting ready at their homes (where even Heather’s dog got fancied up for the special occasion).
This was my first wedding at First General Baptist Church and I have to say I’m a big fan especially with it being just walking distance to the beautiful Garden Path which we made our first stop after finishing formals inside! And Heather and Blair’s reception location was just as beautiful so we spent some time around sunset on the Hickory Point Golf Course grounds.
Their album is currently being hand-crafted in Italy and I cannot wait to see it in-person so soon!
